MY VALENTINE

My darling husband 💖, You were worth the wait! Remember when we were just friends, the first time I told you that I have a personal blog; a haven I occasionally dump my stories & thoughts?...to which you carefully listened then asked: “Will you one day write about me on your blog?”  I laughed!! I laughed so hard then told you how for you to feature in my writing you’d have to be out-of-this-world special to me ... to which you thoughtfully responded: “Mercy, never say never!” ….. and then went on a mission to overturn my entire life!! You clever, genius hunk of a man! 😉😉 I’m here today to categorically say that a blogpost is the least of what you, my elusive leading man, deserve! The universe kept saying “The right person will show up, find a path into your heart and know how to hold your love with all the delicateness it deserves, choose you just as deeply as they choose themselves and as you choose them, reciprocate your vibe, match your energy and never make you feel lik...

2023

Dear 2023, I don’t know what you’re gonna be all about  but what I know for sure is that this is my year,  as cliché as that may sound! January gave me a platform to set things in motion  and sketch a simple vision for myself, by myself.  Now that I have a map meant to guide me  throughout and knowing that I possess  everything that’s required from and of me  to walk into my best self, I give myself freely  to the will of God and to the universe to work it’s magic!  I am walking right into the most authentic,  happy and fulfilling years of my life.  I am committed to exercising the love  muscle on myself just as much as I do to others.  I am letting go of all the occasional self doubt/fear  that sometimes creep up trying to convince me  that I ain’t enough. I am enough. I am authentic. I am stellar. …and I am here to experience life in its totality.

TAKING STOCK - 2022

This is a post I usually really long to write. In December 2021, I wrote this one here: TAKING STOCK - 2021 . Fun read. It combines most, if not all things that have happened in the course of the year which contributed to my being here now. I love looking back at the strides I made and plan ahead but also correct things I might've handled wrong. Now, as 2021 ended, I was out of a job and was super broke. The company I'd been working at for about 3 years closed down - Covid manenos . Good thing was that as we approached year end I got a temporary out-bound sales executive job at Glovo. Can we one day talk about matching salaries to fancy job titles attached to it, because wueeh! ? It paid the necessary bills anyway so I stuck with it for about 4 months as I sought better avenues. I don't miss the sales review meetings or having to wait for a restaurant owner in Rongai for weeks to give me a response on whether he'll sign with us only to go there two week after (with th...

2022 READS - BOOK 4

‘Finding Me’ intrigued me. Not only did reading though Viola’s story give me a weirdly necessary assurance that I am doing better at things life and should learn to constantly pat myself on the back for a good job done but also took me waaay back to the days when life as is (currently) was once a blurry dream and out of possible human reach. It so happened that as I was scrolling the last few chapters, her latest movie “The Woman King” premiered. The brave fighter, General Nanisca took the day! Her character and story in the movie comes close to what she’s generally experienced in life - a story of a young girl rising from nothing to something great; to the Woman King - Nanisca. It’s crazy how we find it easy to judge some of these celebrities and think “ ….yup! They’re shining as they are now because they’ve had it easy!” The lenses with which I look at them was somewhat changed after reading Viola’s story; which she wrote with so much rawness, vulnerability and courage. She talks a...

STELLAR GIRLS KENYA & NOVA PIONEER SCHOOLS

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step!  We are happy to have taken the first step into our long-lasting and fruitful friendship with the formidable and prestigious Nova Pioneer Schools, Tatu City. This past Sunday, 13th November 2022, we were called upon to mentor and minister to students at Nova Pioneer High Schools, Tatu City (Girls & Boys). Our stellar mentors showed up in large numbers to share, mentor, educate, elevate and empower the students into eventually transforming into their best version a.k.a their stellar version!  The speakers for the church services were stellar mentors; Austine Muga (boys) and Nicole Kimani (girls) who strongly spoke and taught on ‘Finishing Strong’ and ‘Anxiety & Anger Management’ respectively. With National Exams nearing, there’s a tendency to fear what’s coming and guidance on key tips to handle the looming pressure were effectively put across by our mentors. After the service the students still wanted more from ...
